Urban development best practices
The municipality of Poznan and the region of Wielkopolska are among the first to use the new financial instrument JESSICA to regenerate an area of the city. A €66m fund was set up, and the city's Urban Regeneration Programme tried to encourage residents and businesses to join in the process of transformation. Already, 18 months after launch, 30% of the funds were committed, with contracts signed on six projects. The first project to receive a JESSICA loan was the Poznan Technological-Industrial Park in the Debiec district, while the second was the Podwale Office Centre, situated close to the historic district of Sródka.
